Official. Valentines Lake has won Best Original Music Score at the Nashville Horror Film Festival.
The independent creature feature is also now streaming on Screamify as a $4.99 rental.
Trent Duncan writes and directs. The score is by Darren Morze, who also composed the music for Axes and Os, the film’s companion feature.
The setup: four friends head to a small town for a Galentine’s weekend. A local cult has other plans. They’re being prepared as sacrifices to an ancient creature living under the lake.
Runtime is 77 minutes. The cast includes Jamie Bernadette, Cass Huckabay, Stephen Lamar Lewis, Madison M. Bowman, Sara Wimmer, Noemi Cabrera and Brandon Krum.
The film is one half of the Two Feature Project from Duncan and Joseph O’Connor: one shared script and core footage, cut into two different horror movies. Axes and Os goes slasher. Valentines Lake goes Lovecraft.
Duncan’s statement on the film:
“Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, Valentines Lake puts a new spin on Cthulhu mythology, introducing a sinister cult and new twists on the legend. It's a slow-burning mystery with plenty of eerie atmosphere, unexpected surprises, and fun moments along the way.”
