Screamify is putting streaming on a coin. The horror platform's Micro Horrors™ — its vertical, made-for-your-phone episodic series — are now sold as physical collectible coins, and the first store in the country to stock them is Danger Zone Video in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

The mechanics are simple. Each coin is individually numbered, made in the USA, and carries series artwork on the front and a unique QR code on the back. Scan the code and the series plays on your phone. If the link ever expires, rescanning the coin puts you right back where you left off.

Screamify Puts Streaming on a Coin — Micro Horror Collectibles Hit First Store

Three titles are in the first wave: Scary Mary, the influencer-summons-a-demon series from TikTok filmmaker Joshua Alden and his sister Brandi Alden; Autonomous, the trapped-in-a-driverless-car thriller starring Erin Áine and Domenic Jungling, produced by Áine and Kyle Valle of Big Squid Productions; and Game Night, the scouts-versus-slasher entry from Trent Duncan of Venture Court Productions.

The coins retail for $15 each at Danger Zone Video, 11932 Lebanon Road in Mount Juliet, open Wednesday through Sunday. The shop — a buy-sell-trade physical media store that opened in 2022 — announced the drop this week and says it wants the coins in collectors' hands.

Screamify has been pushing the vertical format hard since Micro Horrors launched this year, and this is the format's first jump off the screen and onto a shelf. Physical media store, streaming content, one QR code between them. More retail locations have not been announced.
