It's official. "Strung," the psychological thriller that marks the first-ever co-production between Tyler Perry Studios and Blumhouse, streams on Peacock June 26, 2026.

The film was first announced back in 2021 under the title "Help." Roughly five years later, it's real and it's dated.

Chloe Bailey stars as Layla, a struggling LA violinist who takes a prestigious music-tutor job for a wealthy, enigmatic family — and is pulled into a battle for her safety and her sanity.

The Team-Up Five Years in the Making

Tyler Perry produces under his Peachtree & Vine banner. Jason Blum produces for Blumhouse. Tim Palen produces as well. It's the first time Perry's studio and Blumhouse have joined forces on a single film.

Malcolm D. Lee directs — a name better known for comedies and dramas like "The Best Man" and "Girls Trip," not genre fare. The script comes from Alan B. McElroy, whose credits run deep: "Halloween 4," "Wrong Turn," and "Spawn."

The supporting cast is stacked. Lynn Whitfield, Coco Jones, Anna Diop, Lucien Laviscount, and Romy Woods all appear alongside Bailey.

Festival Bow, Then Streaming

"Strung" already had its moment in front of a crowd. The film premiered as the opening-night selection at the 30th American Black Film Festival in Miami Beach on May 27, 2026.

A trailer dropped around May 20, 2026, ahead of that premiere.

From there it's straight to Peacock — no theatrical run. The film streams as a Peacock original starting June 26.

The pitch is tight: a gifted but broke musician, a too-good-to-be-true gig, a family with secrets, and a slow-tightening grip on one woman's hold on reality. Bailey carries the lead as Layla.

Mark the date. "Strung" hits Peacock June 26, 2026.
